To the Shadow World

Ophelia has a soft voice. To enhance her voice, she needs to ask for help. Only the one who hear her are Juliet from Romeo and Juliet, but she's a shadow...?

Following Miss Ophelia's step into the shadow world, you would encounter Juliet, Desdemona and other female characters in Shakepeare's play... Are they the same in the shadow world, can Ophelia find back her voice? This one-hour visual novel will tell you the answer.

Inspired by the female characters' stories in Shakepeare's play, we want to tell their story by presenting this visual novel, or rather, digital play. In this game, you will act as Ophelia, meeting lots of Shakespeare's characters, deciding their fates and solving puzzles, to give a performance of a four-act "digital play".

We are graduate students from MSc Intermediality program in University of Edinburgh. To the Shadow World is our final project. English and Chinese version are avaliable.
